Mark Donahue - President Mark Donahue has been a Chicago Police Officer since 1977. For almost 20 years he served as a Patrolman and Field Training Officer on the South side. In 1996 he was promoted to Youth Officer and became a Detective in 1998. Mark is a graduate of St. Laurence High School, Moraine Valley Community College and St. Xavier University. Mark has served in a host of capacities for the Fraternal Order of Police on the Local, State and National levels. He served as Watch and Unit Rep in the 009th District from 1985 until 1994. In 1994, Mark was elected as the Trustee for Chicago on the State Lodge Board of Directors and was elected as Chairman of the Board in 1996 by his peers. In 1996 Donahue began his employment with Lodge 7 when he was elected Financial Secretary and became a Field Rep. In 1998 Mark was elected President of the Illinois State Lodge where he served in that capacity until 2002 when he returned to Chicago after being elected President of Lodge 7 and was re-elected in 2005. Mark is the longest serving Committee Chairman for the National Lodge after first being appointed National Grievance Chairman by then President Gil Gallegos in 1995. An active participant in many organizations related to quality of
life issues for all of Illinois’ citizens, Mark serves on: the Board of
the Illinois Crime Commission; the Advisory Board of Fight Crime: Invest
in Kids and has been appointed to the Early Learning Council for the
State of Illinois. Mark resides on the southwest side with his wife and
three children. |
