Rhonda Bullock - New and Former Member (Trustee)

I was appointed to the Chicago Police Department on 26 March 1990.  As an 18 year veteran I have worked in several units which include the following:

Patrol Officer for over 13 years with a brief stint in the 2nd district and for the majority of my career in the 3rd District.  In 2003 I was detailed to the Information Services Division (Unit 125) to assist in the rollout of the Automated Arrest Application.  Some officers may remember me as the on-site support person; others may remember me as one of the instructors who taught them Automated Arrest, Data Warehouse and Spar/Awards at the Training Academy.  In 2006 I left the Academy and was detailed to the Bureau of Crime Strategy and Accountability (BCSA/Unit 112) where I am currently assigned.

In 2002 I won election to the FOP as a Trustee where I served the men and women of the department diligently.  I have remained steadfast and active in the Union for the past 8 years.  I was named Chairman of the FOP Newsletter in 2002 a position which I still hold.  I am a member of the Health and Benefits Committee and Unit Representative for BCSA.  I was a member of the previous Negotiations Committee which was instrumental in gaining a substantial wage increase, signed affidavit legislation as well as an affidavit contract provision, a wellness health plan, a reduction in the retention of discipline records and the added benefit of not having officers serve any disciplinary time until all grievance procedures have been resolved.

Additionally, I have been a Member of the Governors Police Medal of Honor Committee for the past 6 years.  As a member of this committee I have had the privilege of awarding the Governor’s Medal of Honor to more than 40 Police Officers across the State of Illinois and over 30 Chicago Police Officers.

I obtained my Bachelors of Arts from Lewis University in 2005 and am currently seeking a Masters of Science in Criminal Social Justice.
