Rich Aguilar - Trustee

Rich is a twenty-five year veteran who joined the department in June 1982. He has spent his entire career in the patrol division working a beat car. He completed his field training in the 025th district. His next assignment took him to the 023rd district. Although he learned a lot and made many friends there, he transferred to the 014th district where he spent the next twenty years there working mostly as a field training officer. His next year was spent in the 017th district. He was forced to leave or relinquish his FTO status when the district became a non-training district. Rich returned to the 025th district where he is currently assigned as a field training officer.

Rich became formally involved with the FOP when he served as the 014th district second watch rep for two years. He was next elected to the 014th district unit rep position which he held for three years before being elected as a trustee in 2002. Rich was re-elected to his second term as trustee with the current board of directors. His top priority has been to keep the membership informed and present their views at trustee, board, and general meetings.

Rich currently serves on the  Grievance and Work Schedule committees. He is the chairman of the Website committee. He was appointed to the current contract negotiating team serving on the work-schedule sub-committee. He was a member of the last contract negotiating team where he served on the comparables, discipline, and work-schedule sub-committees.

Rich was recently appointed to the Easter Seals committee at the State Lodge level.

Rich is a resident of the Portage Park area on the northwest side.  He and his wife, Dawn, are the proud parents of three children, Jennifer, Cary, and Rebecca. Rich is also the senior member of the FOP Stars Hockey Team.
